Condo or house in Puerto Vallarta: which should you buy

The buyer's first big decision in the bay: a condo or a standalone house. Short answer: for a second home and rentals, a condo (maintenance solved and amenities); for year-round living with space and pets, a house. The long answer, in the table.

Frequently asked questions

Condo vs house

Which rents better, a condo or a house?

The condo: it is the most demanded product and the easiest to manage remotely, with predictable fixed costs. Houses perform well as high-ticket rental villas but require professional management and upkeep.

How much are condo HOA fees in Puerto Vallarta?

Between USD 50 and 200 in simple buildings, 300 to 800 in towers with amenities, over 1,000 in luxury resorts. Before you offer I show you the current fee and arrears of the exact unit.

Can I buy a house and rent it when I am not using it?

Yes, with high tickets if well located and presented. Keep in mind a rental house needs constant administration, gardening and maintenance: net yield is what qualifies it, not the gross ticket.
